Jane Austin style of books?

I am a huge fan of Jane Austin but can not recall the style of writing she possess. I love the books about Viscounts and Dukes and all that good stuff. Romance is always a plus. What would I look under. I don’t particular names of books or authors just the genre.

Other people have given you good suggestions, both for modern-day genre and for classical authors. I’ll toss an American into the mix: Try Inglis (Clark) Fletcher, a mid-twentieth century American author who wrote about the early history of North Carolina. She’s a pretty close match for Austen fans as well, even if there’s a little more action in her works.

My mom–born in 1938–read her as a teenager in the Fifties, and passed her on to me growing up. It’s not my style of literature, but she’s still a good writer. Start with ‘The Wind in the Forest,’ since that’s what I started with. You’ll find her listed sometimes with the middle name, and sometimes without.
